Just say yes to retirement planning

From Michael Rubin, About.com GuideAugust 7, 2009

If you're behind in your retirement planning, you're not alone. Procrastination is one of the most important obstacles to overcome in retirement planning. The good news: retirement planning isn't very difficult to understand.

The first thing you have to do is save. For some people, this may mean cutting back dramatically on unnecessary expenses. For others, it may be as simple as paying careful attention to their finances for the first time.

Once you begin saving, you'll have to choose where to put your money. A 401(k) plan, if offered at work, is often the best place to begin, particularly if you have a employer matching plan. A Roth IRA is another great choice too.

No matter when or how, the important thing is to simply begin. Here's a great place to start planning for your retirement.
