How to Save For Retirement With an IRA - Step 1 - Learn Your Contribution Limits

From Michael Rubin, About.com Guide   August 9, 2010

Following on the success of my July Top Steps Before You Retire series, I'm pleased to announce the beginning of my August series: How to Save for Retirement With an IRA . The first step is to Learn Your Contribution Limits.  While I've written before of the 2010 IRA contribution limits, they are but one factor in learning your overall constraints. Other parameters include your age, marital status, earned income, and the date of contribution.

It's a bit to think about, but pretty easy to follow. If you've been thinking about whether or not an IRA could be helpful to you as you plan your retirement (and it will be), follow the new How To Save for Retirement With an IRA series by first reading Learn Your Contribution Limits.
