Traditional vs. Roth IRA

Anyone can contribute to an IRA if they have earned income for the year at least equal to the amount of the contribution and have met certain conditions. A spouse can contribute to an IRA for a non-working spouse if he/she has earned income for the year at least to the amount of the contribution. The decision is whether to contribute to a traditional IRA or a Roth IRA. There are advantages and disadvantages to both.
